Welcome to the Regional Natural History Museum of Plovdiv on 11 October from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm for an event dedicated to the EuroBirdwatch 2019 and the magnificent Imperial Eagle.
The Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds organizes a creative workshop for the production of Imperial Eagle from origami and coloring drawings of Imperial Eagle and other migratory birds, specially created by the artist Alexandra Ilieva from Inspire Bulgaria. From 12:00 pm in the Birds of Prey Hall, an expert from the BSPB will give a talk about the Imperial Eagle and other emblematic for our nature species such as the Egyptian and Griffon Vulture. From 1:30 pm in front of the museum will start a birdwatching tour in the nearby Danov Hill, where you will learn curious facts about the birds of Plovdiv.
The event is organized by BSPB with the support of the Regional Natural History Museum of Plovdiv within the framework of the LIFE project "LAND for LIFE".
The EuroBirdwatch is being organized for the 26th consecutive year by BirdLife International every first weekend of October. In 2019, 41 partner organizations (including BSPB) from 41 countries, part of the BirdLife International network in Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia, organize various events for the general public - bird watching, presentations on endangered species, excursions, round tables and more. Like every year, BirdLife International will keep statistics on the number of people who will be involved in the various initiatives and on the species and number of birds they have observed.
