

The Imperial Eagle was in focus during the EuroBirdwatch 2018 in Haskovo. This year, the event was celebrated for 25th time by 38 partner organizations of BirdLife International worldwide.
Traditionally, the days are celebrated during the first Saturday and Sunday of October, with over 800 children and adults attending the 6 events organized by BSPB in Sofia, Svishtov, Kozloduy, Haskovo, Gotse Delchev and Belene. The participants watched birds, learned interesting and curious facts about bird migration, and joined the various games and workshops to produce artificial feeders and nests. The total number of observed birds in Bulgaria was 4091 individuals of over 60 species. Coordinator of the EuroBirdwatch 2018 in Bulgaria is BSPB.
The biggest event of the BirdLife Partnership in Europe is organized since 1993. During this 25 years EuroBirdwatch has attracted more than 1.1 Million people who observed more than 73 million of birds.
The owerall aim of this 25- year long tradition is to raise awareness for the needs of the migratory birds on the breeding areas, the flyways and stop–overs and in the wintering areas in the Mediterranean and in Africa.
