The Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds (BSPB) organizes information meetings and visits to pastures for farmers in Sakar. The purpose of the information events is to present a guide for sustainable management of grasslands in habitat of the Imperial eagle in key areas of "Natura 2000" in Bulgaria. The guide was created by BSPB within the LIFE project "Land for Life" with help of experts from the State Fund "Agriculture" - Paying Agency.
The meetings will be held in:
• Svilengrad, April 11 (Tuesday) at 10.30 am in the Municipal Administration Svilengrad, bul. "Bulgaria" № 32, 2nd floor, room № 2;
• Topolovgrad, April 12 (Wednesday) at 10.30 in the Business Center "Terzieva house" street. "Drama" № 3.
Such guide is being developed for the first time in Bulgaria and aims to bring together and explain the eligibility requirements set out in regulations. Grasslands have to meet these requirements to receive assistance under schemes and measures based on area in the new programming period of the CAP 2014-2020.
By developing this guide BSPB aims to provide help for farmers who implement commitments under the RDP and for the inspectors. It will be of practical benefit to persons performing photo interpretation, and for operators of the identification system for agricultural parcels.
