On May 12 at 10:00 the big meadow of the South Park in Sofia, Bulgaria, will more than ever belong to children and parents. The 11th edition of Familatlon feast will traditionally make Sunday the special day for hundreds of families.
One of the highlights of the holiday will be the "Opportunity Fair" - within the day, children and parents will be able to choose among 50 sports clubs, children's workshops and organizations. There, of course, will be a team of BSPB for the traditional birdwatching tours in the South Park. At the special stand, visitors can find information materials and learn more about the Egyptian Vulture and the Imperial Eagle. The feast will also be dedicated to the World Migratory Bird Day celebrated on May 11. This year the theme of the Day is “Protect Birds: Be the Solution to Plastic Pollution!” and will put the spotlight on the impact of plastic pollution on migratory birds and their habitats.
Familatlon is organized by the Parents Association in partnership with the Three Foundation and the support of the Sofia Municipality.
The participation of BSPB in the event is organized within LIFE projects "Land for LIFE" and "Egyptian Vulture New LIFE”.
